A Personal Update
This month marked two years of JGP Styled Me! I honestly almost missed this milestone until a friend called it to my attention. I guess I was so heads-down busy that it just wasn’t on my radar. But I do think it’s important to stop and take stock of how far I’ve come.
In my second year of business, I had the pleasure of welcoming more new clients, changed my styling services and pricing, worked with my business coach in an invaluable group program, got brand photos taken, did a collab with another rock star small business owner, took a video content course (and learned so much), attended way more networking events than an introvert like myself would ever be comfortable with and got a little more confident putting myself out there in new ways (don’t look for me to be doing any TikTok dances, though).
And I’m excited to see what year three brings. For one thing, it’s going to bring about some change.
^ How’s this for a not-so-subtle cue to share the biggest upcoming change of all?
In just a few short months, my family and I will be moving to Berlin, Germany! We’ve always been interested in moving abroad, but frankly, I thought it would likely be one of those “somedays…” that simply never materialized. And I can’t say Berlin was ever at the top of our unwritten list; it wasn’t on the list at all. But a Berlin-based company reached out to my husband, and one thing led to another, and he ultimately got a job in Berlin. So off we go!
Berlin at night
We visited Berlin back in November, which you may or may not remember if you follow me on Instagram. Just in time for the Christmas markets! While I’d visited Germany before, I’d never been to Berlin but that visit got me excited about our move. It’s such an eclectic international city with so much history. We barely scratched the surface, so I’m looking forward to visiting again soon for our house-hunting trip. (And by “house” I mean flat because we decided we’d like to rent for a year or so to see how we like it.)
I loved the tiles at this U-Bahn-Station.
As the clock counts down to our move, I’m busy purging as much as possible in our home, making storage/sell/donate piles and doing my best to learn German, which is no small task. Duolingo is my new favorite app, for better or worse (find me there @Jacquelyn21504).
While there’s a lot of change on the horizon, one thing that won’t be changing is my styling services. It will be business as usual for JGP Styled Me. Because my business is primarily virtual, I will continue working with all of my US-based clients, just from a new time zone. I’m here to make style feel effortless for you—no matter where I am in the world.
