5 Ways to Style a Spring Blazer
Earlier this week I shared some of my favorite looks for Easter and mentioned that I’m on the hunt for the perfect pink pantsuit this spring. I’m still looking, and in the meantime, I grabbed this steal of a blazer from Target. Under $40?! Yes, please. The color is beautiful and vibrant for spring, the fabric is lightweight and it has a comfortable, relaxed fit which lends to being dressed up or dressed down, depending on the occasion. Because it’s lightweight, it offers movement and isn’t structured. I love having a versatile piece like this in my closet and already have a lot of ideas on how to style it. Here are just a few:
How I Styled My Spring Blazer
Blazer + sneakers: This is the most casual of the bunch. I styled the blazer with my beloved Kut From The Kloth boyfriend jeans and a graphic tee. My tee happens to be gray and black but I would absolutely wear a more colorful option here, too. I did just a bit of a messy front tuck and layered with the blazer, and finished the look with my comfy, go-to Veja sneakers.
Blazer + distressed denim: A classic white tee and denim never go out of style! I paired my Charlie distressed jeans from Joe’s and a simple J Crew tee, then elevated the look with the blazer and again did a bit of a messy front tuck with the tee. On my feet are my favorite shoes I found for spring, the Corinne Lugsole Loafer Mule from Madewell.
Blazer + monochromatic: For this slightly more dressed-up look, I paired Old Navy black skinny jeans with a fitted black v-neck tee from H & M. To up the ante, I slipped on my Sam Edelman heels for a night out look.
Blazer + linen: These Kut From The Kloth black linen pants were one of my favorite purchases last summer. They’re soft, comfy and lightweight. To transition the blazer into the summer months I paired it with a simple white cami and pants, along with black slides.
Blazer + wide-leg denim: I’m wearing the same J Crew white tee from look #2 but I swapped the skinny jeans for my Madewell Perfect Vintage Wide Leg jean for a more tailored look. When I wear a wide-leg bottom like this, I like to give myself a boost with a heel, in this case, an Isaac Mizrahi animal print stacked heel sandal.
Why These Looks Work
The blazer adds a finishing touch. A blazer is a great way to elevate and frame a look.
The pink is an on-trend, bold hue for spring, and it’s a way to infuse some color into your looks.
The looks are proportioned with the blazer and top account for 2/3 of my body and my bottoms the remaining 1/3.
