My 5 Favorites for March

March seems like it has lasted a lifetime. Anyone else? It’s been a month of trying new things and embracing some old things. Here are a few of my favorites from the month, fashion and beyond:

  1. Women's Relaxed Fit Spring Blazer - A New Day™: I am really into this blazer! It is such a steal at under $40. I’ve been having fun styling it in all sorts of ways.

  2. La Roche Posay PIGMENTCLAR BRIGHTENING DEEP CLEANSER: A La Roche Posay devotee for years, I’ve always had a bottle of their Toleriane Purifying Foaming Facial Cleanser in the shower. However, my 45-year-old face is needing a bit more TLC these days so I tried the Pigmentclar cleanser on a whim on a recent Target trip. It’s anti-aging and brightens skin tone, both of which I could use. A little (pea-size) goes a long way.

  3. Madewell Kick Out Crop Jeans in Cherryville Wash: Raw-Hem Edition: My beloved five-year-old Madewell Cali Demi-Boot chewed hem jeans officially died this month. I wore those jeans constantly and when the inner thighs started to rip I was determined to hang onto them, going so far as to buy repair patches which ultimately did not work. I looked everywhere for these jeans and discovered they’re no longer carried, but have been replaced with this new style. I bought them in both the Cherryville wash (with the raw hem) as well as the Starkey wash (A.K.A. black) and I love them both. They are truly just as good as the Cali demi-boot in terms of fit with just the right amount of stretch and a mid-rise. I only wish the Starkey wash was also available with a raw hem, but nothing that can’t be easily fixed.

  4. Madewell Corinne Lugsole Loafer Mule: Every time I wear these shoes—which is often—someone gushes over them and has to know where I got them. They are so well-made and comfortable. I like wearing them with cropped denim.

  5. Everyone’s Table by Gregory Gourdet: I’ve been a Gregory fan since his Top Chef days. My husband and I dined at Departure in Portland when he was the executive chef there. So I slyly gifted my husband this cookbook for Christmas and have been enjoying the fruits of his labor. With neighbor friends, we’ve been cooking our way through this book and the flavors are so bold and delicious.
