I love summertime and my favorite place to be is by the pool, which is pretty much the only place to be to survive summer in Austin! That’s one of the reasons I prefer high-quality swimsuits—because I wear them so frequently. I’m partial to a one-piece swimsuit, and my current favorites are from La Blanca, Miraclesuit and SUMMERSALT. I have a few others I wear on occasion, but these are my go-to’s because I find the quality to be the best, and the prices to be reasonable.

When I’m looking for a high-quality swimsuit, some of the things I take into consideration are fabrication, comfort, fade resistance and support. Being in the sun frequently, I don’t want my swimsuit to fade within a single season, ideally. I want to be comfortable, too; I can’t stand having to tug or constantly adjust something when I’m in a swimsuit. And because I’m busty, I absolutely require a swimsuit to have solid bust support.

Take a peek at some of my favorites from La Blanca, Miraclesuit and SUMMERSALT, and see what I like about each of them.

  1. La Blanca Women's Multi Strap Cross Back One Piece Swimsuit: I’ve had this swimsuit for nearly two years, although mine is in the navy/white Animal Instinct print which I believe may have been discontinued, but it’s this same exact silhouette. It hugs my body in all of the right places and the wide shoulder straps offer solid bust support. It isn’t an underwire swimsuit but it’s still very supportive and comfortable. My favorite thing about this suit, though, is the fixed multi-strap crisscrossing design on the back which is unique and also helps to keep the suit from shifting. Like most La Blanca swimsuits, this style is available in countless prints as well as solid colors. I always have a hard time choosing! Fits true-to-size.

  2. SUMMERSALT The Sidestroke One Piece Swimsuit: This is a new one in my collection this year and I’ve already taken it for a swim. Although I always love a chic black swimsuit, I opted for this one in olive. I never thought I could wear a one-shoulder swimsuit so I was happily surprised at how comfortable and supportive this suit is. This silhouette is one of SUMMERSALT’S most popular because it works for all figures, and there are so many colors—including the iconic color-blocking option—available. Even with just one shoulder strap, it offers full bust support without underwire, cups or padding, making it ideal for all chest sizes. Fits true-to-size.

  3. Miraclesuit Women's Swimwear Revele Tummy Control Underwire Bra One Piece Swimsuit: Confession: I don’t even know how long this swimsuit has been in my collection. But it’s been a long time! A sleek, black swimsuit is something that never goes out of style, and since mine is still in really good condition and I wear it frequently, I see no reason to get rid of it. This is the most supportive swimsuit I own because it has tummy control plus an underwire. This is the swimsuit that I reach for when I want to swim laps or plan to be really active in the pool or at the beach. Fits true-to-size.

  4. La Blanca Over the Shoulder Twist Front Tankini Swimsuit Top: This is a really cute suit that’s very similar to one that I own; the only difference is that mine is a one-piece and this is a tankini. I can’t seem to find this style in a one-piece anymore, but I still wanted to share this one because I love the tie-back detail (which is exactly the same as the one-piece). I like that the tie-back detail allows you to customize the fit of the suit, and it helps to provide ample bust coverage without the need for an underwire. Mine has very light padding in the bust. I really love the deep plunge and the vibrant color. Fits true-to-size.

Let me know if you try any of these swimsuits and how you like them, or if you have other one-piece favorites that I should check out.
